45 young artists came together in Torosgyugh for four-day long plein air to be inspired by colours of Minas Avetisyan – one of the most talented Armenian painters, and the nature of Shirak Region, Armenia.
Talented Armenian artists from different regions of Armenia as well as Georgia and France had a unique chance to meet each other to create in a multicultural environment, exchange knowledge and expertise.
They had an introductory tour in Gyumri, learnt about the cultural heritage and architectural specifics of the city, as well as about Minas Avetisyan, the source of his creativity and inspiration.
The young artists had a chance to work and create in open air.
The day was summarized by a spectacular and delicious event-intercultural night on the first day of the Plain Air.
Our talented artists were working using various styles and genres showing incredible brush stroke techniques.
We had an interesting master class led by Karen Barseghyan. We were delighted to host Araqs Margaryan- the head of art- history department of Yerevan State Fine Art Academy Gyumri Branch.

On the 3rd day of the "Plain Air" we had a spectacular closing ceremony with an exhibition of our project particiapants' paintings. The ceremony started with the greetings and speech of IW organization president and project coordinator-Marine Hovhannisyan. The young athletes of Artistic Gymnastics School of Gyumri performed a beautiful dance to the tunes of the "Plein Air" anthem.
The project participants, Gohar Mkhitaryan and Mariam Manukyan, had a delightful musical performance. The governor-marzpet of Shirak Region, Tigran Petrosyan, extended his warmest greetings to the project participants and handed them certificates.
Our beloved and highly honored singer of Armenia, Murad Malkhasyan, summed up the ceremony with his fabulous voice.
The guests walked through the exhibition hall and enjoyed the beautiful paintings of our young artists. The exhibition and the project in general were presented by local TV channels and website of Shirak Regional Government.




On the 4th day of the Plein Air we had a very inspiring visit to Minas Avetisyan's home land Jajur which was an inspiration for his art. We had a warm meeting with Minas Avetisyan's son Arman Avetisyan who welcomed and encouraged the young artists to be brave in Art.
